The history file details extensive images of the Bubble Car being stripped to a bare shell. The shell, front door and engine cover were all sent to Ribble Technology Limited where they went through a gentle paint removal and dipping process, rinsed in a Phosphate solution removing any final contamination stopping the formation of any flash rust then baked. Following this process everything was electrostatic primed and baked at 190 degrees to give a tough durable coating. The extensive bodywork included 3 coats of 2K primer then left for a week, fully sanded down, 2 coats of wet on wet primer, and 2 coats of red undercoat, left for a week, fully wet blocked down then 3 coats of red inside and out and finally flatted and polished to perfection... Outstanding mirror finish.

Originally built in Croydon and registered new 12th April 1965 by Raymond Way Motors Limited, 36/38 Willesden Lane, Queens Park, London and subsequently sold to Mr Ronald Jay, Worland Road, Stratford, London. The car was used for the first 2 years clocking up 6800 miles then parked up in a barn until discovered in 2013. The car still had its last tax disc in the window dated March 1967 which we have along with the original green log book in the history file.
The extensive and detailed restoration was carried out by S&A Vehicle Restorers and Builders, South Reddish, Stockport a long side the Heinkel Owners Club supplying, expertise, knowledge and many original parts.

Professor Heinkel’s "better Isetta" was indeed lighter and faster with a smaller engine. The ability to carry four people stood it in good stead despite the fixed steering column. 1957 was a banner year for the Heinkel, with 7000 examples leaving the works.
However, early 1958 brought a noticeable downturn in interest in the Heinkel Kabine. Most significantly, permission was received to once more resume the production of aircraft, which was, of course the original orientation of the company. Suddenly, the Kabine was no longer viable, and a licensee to take over production had to be found. 2000 examples were built in Argentina from 1957 to 1959. In 1958, a concern in Ireland produced 200 examples of the Kabine (known as the Heinkel-I) before having their license revoked for shoddy workmanship. In the fall of 1960, the license was duly given to Trojan, a long-established firm (1928) producing a long line of rugged, simple utility vehicles.
By 1962, they were producing the:
Type 601 (3-wheel right hand drive).
Type 602 (4-wheel right hand drive),
Type 603 (3-wheel left hand drive),
Type 604 (4-wheel left hand drive)
as well as an Estate van. Later Trojans had Wipac lamps and fixed plastic quarter windows.
In production until 1966, it was the longest surviving true bubblecar, whereupon Trojan turned to the production of the fiberglass-bodied Elva sportscar.
