Interior & Equipment
The complete interior was retrimmed by Cotswold Classics during the restoration of 2011. Seats trimmed in fine grade biscuit leather, deep pile carpets throughout, walnut dash facia, speaker, gearknob and door cappings, new inertia reel seatbelts, door cards retrimmed with carpeted bottoms, new sun visors etc. The matching Moto-Lita steering wheel complements this incredible and unmarked cabin. All clocks and gauges work perfectly and have crystal clear glass. All switches work as they should as does the heater... Simply stunning.
Exterior
The original body shell was subject to a full bare metal body restoration in 2011 by Cotswold Classics and repainted in factory Tartan Red. The paint finish and bodywork are still outstanding and blemish free today with factory panel fit, perfect shut lines and gaps. A full photographic log of the restoration is included in the history file showing the attention to detail that went into the preparation of this lovely MG before the final paint being applied, The underside is equally as impressive, detail painted throughout and protected by a thin coat of clear waxoyl.
Bright work all round is in perfect blemish free order. The new roof and frame unmarked with perfectly clear screens. All glass again unmarked, the opening quarter lights operate perfectly.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
The 72 spoke chrome wire wheels and chrome 2 ear spinners are in fantastic blemish free order. Sitting on all matching quality Falken Sincera SN-828 185/65 R15 tyres and have plenty of tread remaining.
During the extensive restoration the servo assisted brakes were all renewed with new front brake calipers, pads and discs, rear drums, and brake lines needless to say the braking power is excellent. The all new steering is precise and responsive, she handles beautifully.
Engine & Transmission
The original water-cooled o.h.v. six-cylinder in-line 2912cc engine is superb. The engine was rebuilt in 1986 at approx 63k in California the history file contains receipts detailing this. The engine was again rebuilt during the full restoration completed August 2011 and has covered 5800 miles since. Needless to say she responds superbly, pulls strong in every gear, perfect oil pressure and idles faultlessly. Overdrive in 3rd and 4th gears which operates in and out very smoothly, the gearbox and clutch are light and precise, she sounds glorious through the full stainless steel exhaust system, that six-cylinder sound is simply… Magical
Summary
Registered new in California, the history file contains the California Certificate of Title stating the model year as 1969 and first registered 1970. Many State side invoices and receipts are included for parts and restoration works dating back to the mid 1980's.
Returning back to the UK in February 1990 and kept for many years by Mr Wright from Royston Hertforsdshire then later being aquired by Mr Harrisson who instructed a bare metal ground up restoration. The history file documents the car was restored by Cotswold Classics, Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire and completed August 2011.
The file is packed with invoices receipts for parts and work carried out plus many pictures of the car before, during and after restoartion supporting the passion and detail that has gone into restoring this exceptional MGC.
Spring 2012 the car was purchased by Mr Rooney and taken to his holiday home in the South of France where again the history files documents its export and French registration plus many invoices for servicing and maintenance work whilst it was there.
Finally returning back to the UK in 2018 and sold to Mr Rooney's friend an avid MG restorer and collector who further lavished time and money bringing the car to the exceptional standard we have today.

The MGC... A two-year production span was all the MGC enjoyed before being withdrawn in September 1969 with a total of 8,999 cars being built; 4,542 were roadsters and 4,457 were in GT form.
