The original luxurious leather 2+2 interior has been completely re-trimmed to the highest standard with no expense spared. Contrasting colours of silver/grey Connolly Leather piped in navy blue and grey piped Wilton carpeting were used to create this outstanding interior.
The wooden rim Mota-Lita steering wheel is in first class order, the optional extra fitted heater/demister operates perfectly. All original Smiths gauges and Lucas Ammeter work as they were intended. The attention to detail is second to none and one of the finest we have seen... Stunning
Finished in Opalescent Silver Blue. The bodywork was subject to an extensive 4 year restoration from 1997 to 2001 at a total cost of £25k. The history file contains a full photographic record of before, during and after restoration. The body was completely removed from the chassis and painted to perfection giving a uniformed deep gloss shine, the complete chassis bare metal stripped and painted in 2K. It's clear to see from the pictures that this Dart is still stunning today which is testament to the outstanding quality of workmanship carried out some 23 years ago. The panel fit throughout is as per it left the factory. All body fittings, trims, lights, bumpers, door handles etc. were all re-chromed or replaced using genuine parts where possible during the restoration and are still perfect today. A new navy double duck hood and full tonneau were fitted, both still look as if they've never been used.
The underside of the car is equally as impressive as the top, works included stripped and painted fuel tank, suspension arms, covers, propshaft, diff, leaf springs etc etc the list goes on and on nothing missed.
It would be very difficult to find another SP250 'Dart' to even come close to the attention to detail and condition of this one... Simply amazing
The chrome wire wheels and chrome spinners are in stunning blemish free order. All matching quality Good Year Eagle 195/65 R15 tyres have plenty of tread remaining.
The original Girling brake system has been fully restored with all new brake lines, refurbished and painted calipers, new discs all round 10.625’’ up front, whilst the rear has 10’’. The rear caliper arrangement was almost unique to the SP250, just sharing it with the Gordon Keeble, the Le Mans TR3S and the legendary Aston Martin DB4 GT.
The fully detailed engine and engine bay houses the incredible 2.5 Litre Hemi-Head V8 which has been subject to an extensive documented rebuild including reground crankshaft, new bearings, pistons, oil pump etc etc. Completed in 2001 and has covered a mere 5800 miles since. The completely rebuilt cylinder head has been converted to run on unleaded fuel. The manual 4 speed gearbox and rear axle unit all striped, serviced and rebuilt where necessary, suspension fully overhauled using many new components and Spax shock absorbers. Needless to say she runs perfectly hot or cold and sounds tremendous through the full stainless steel exhaust system. The clutch was replaced 500 miles ago and is light and progressive in operation, gear change positive and precise having synchromesh on top 3 gears... A joy to drive and what a fabulous sound track

The Daimler SP250, also called Daimler Dart, was built between 1959 and 1964. The SP250 was the last car introduced by the brand Daimler before the manufacturer was taken over by Jaguar in 1960. Daimler introduced the new model with the name “Dart”, but was forced to change the name because Chrysler/Dodge was owner of the “dart” trademark. Daimler called the car SP250, which was the internal project number.
Although Daimler had great expectations for the sales and production of the SP250, only 2.654 of this model left the factory it's understood that 1201 of these SP250’s were left hand drive cars.
At the introduction there were only four body colours available: Black, Ivory, Royal Red and British Racing Green. Since the end of 1960 it was possible to order a Daimler SP250 in Mountain Blue metallic. Every Jaguar colour was possible for the SP250 after 1962, a result of the takeover by Jaguar.
