Lotus Seven Series 3 - A road legal car that can be used for club racing...
This car is ready to go... Fully rebuilt in 2016 at a cost in excess of £15,800 at 8447 miles, and covered a little over 1100 miles since. Early on this Seven was fitted with an RAC Safety Roll Bar on the 15th May 1972 the original fitment certificate is in the fully detailed history file, its understood that the car was then sold overseas for club racing use.
The Seven returned back to the UK in 1983 without its original SB chassis number presumably removed during chassis repairs / structural improvements through its racing life. During its time in the USA it was never registered for road use thus no supporting USA Registration Title came with the car to support its actual age when trying to register here with DVLA. The history file documents various correspondence to DVLA trying to obtain an age related number plate. This proved difficult with DVLA, finally an 'A' prefix 1984 current year plate was eventually agreed and registered 18th June 1984.
In 1988 the car was purchased by a Mr Palmer who subsequently lavished thousands of pounds on the car over the next 31 years. Mr Palmer had some success in Historic Club Racing / sprinting in the early 1990's, the history file details newspaper / magazine articles and programmes from this time.
The comprehensive history file has 19 past MOT's dating back to 1984, invoices for servicing, parts and 2016 extensive restoration and engine rebuild, 4 previous owners in the last 37 years.
This Seven can be used as a fun usable road or track day car its also competition compliant for Hill Climb / Sprint or Historic Circuit Racing, benefitting from an MSA compliant roll bar, cut-off master switch and 4 point Schroth harnesses.
