Perfect... The complete interior was fully re-upholstered by Bob West MGA Specialists in May 1997. The original seats and arm rest were reused, bases and backs refurbished and re-covered in luxury black leather with white piping. The door cards replaced and new black carpets fitted with correct MG rubber overmats. The 3 spoke original MG steering wheel is in perfect order, all clocks and gauges work perfectly and have crystal clear glass. All switches work as they should as does the heater, the original correct body coloured dash facia is unmarked.
The stunning silky smooth Old English White (Code WT.3) paintwork is still in exceptional order today with no evidence of rust or corrosion, this is testament to the standard of work that went into the bare-shell body restoration by Mere Classics 22 years ago. The panel fit throughout is very good as you can see from the pictures. The bright work is excellent having been either replaced or re-chromed during its 4 year restoration completed in 1999. The underside is solid, chassis has been sympathetically wax oiled. The black hood, full tonneau and side screens are as new.
Fully restored original MG disc wheels (5) with perfect chrome hub caps, and sitting on excellent all matching Kumho Power Star 165R15 86T tyres. The drum brakes have recently all been recomissioned and operate perfectly pulling up swiftly and straight.
The correct BP15GB BMC B series 1489cc engine was completely rebuilt in 1998 and has only covered 13,000 miles in the last 22 years, an Ivor Searle unleaded head was fitted 2019. The engine and engine bay are fully detailed to show standard. Converted to electronic ignition starting is effortless hot or cold, she starts first time every time, idles beautifully and sounds perfect through the stainless steel exhaust. On the road she pulls strong in every gear, the gearbox it light and precise in operation... A pleasure and fun to drive.
