Just as it left the factory... Immaculate and unmarked luxurious Connolly Stone Beige leather, (Code SMJ) is extensively used throughout the passenger cabin of the MG RV8 with a ruched design, being a UK home market car the Elm Burr veneer facia panel, centre console and door capping's are flawless the interior is pure elegance. The original VDO black-on-white gauges all work perfectly, all interior chrome fittings are of a very high standard. The deep pile dark stone beige carpets with original MG carpet overmats are free from wear and are as new. The original leather gear knob is in excellent order... stunning cockpit
The immediately recognisable hourglass shape of the MG RV8 is finished in Nightfire Red Pearlescent (Code 0916 COQ) this is 1 of only 41 produced in this colour for the UK Market making it very rare indeed. The all original paintwork has a uniformed and deep gloss finish throughout and is flawless, as you would expect from such a low mileage car. The original correct panels produced by Abbey Panels are unmarked and panel fit as per it left the factory as you would expect, no evidence of corrosion as expected with a car that has spent all of its life tucked away indoors. The underside is equally impressive it appears to have never seen rain. The original factory fitted soft top made by Tickford is pristine and rear screen perfectly clear. All original external decals are in perfect order as is the brightwork and lights. The original windscreen still supports the factory etched chassis number and the screen frame as new… A Classic is born.
The unmistakeable and original 5 lattice cast alloy 15x6J road wheels are in exceptional condition. The original MG centre security caps are unmarked. The Zender split rim bolts have no corrosion or damage. All matching original Michelin MXV3-A 205/65 ZR15 tyres are as new the factory original spare has never been fitted. Servo assisted ventilated front disc brakes with 4-piston callipers and rear drums give the car excellent braking feel and capability.
The 3.9 litre V8 is extremely usable with 318 Nm of torque at 3200 rpm and 190bhp giving effortless midrange power. 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 135mph this MG is no slouch. The engine bay is spotlessly clean and factory original with all markings plates and stickers present. The addictive V8 burble through the twin original exhaust is magical. The 5-speed manual gearbox is perfect changing with ease and precisely, the clutch is light and progressive... A joy to drive.

The MG RV8 was bought to fruition by Rover Special Projects team, a team of 30 planners, engineers and designers based at Gaydon, Rovers test track in Warwickshire. Headed by RSP Director, Steve Schlemmer, the project was called Adder in recognition of the Anglo-American Cobra of the 60s, their objective was to recreate the MGB as it would have been had it never left production. Launched at the British Motor Show in 1992, the MG RV8 marked the welcome return of the MG sports car and the famous octagonal badge. At a price of £26,500 when new just 1983 units were made of which 1581 were sold to Japan.
