Remarkable... As you would expect from such a low mileage example. The sumptuous Slate Grey perforated leather shows no signs of adverse wear or discolouration, the optional driver and passenger hard back electric Sports Seat operate perfectly. The original black carpets are excellent throughout as are the optional Factory Luxury Porsche Logo overmats. The optional Tiptronic Control Carbon/Leather steering wheel is unmarked and as new. All switchgear, interior lighting, heater, air conditioning, perforated black headlining, optional yellow front and rear seatbelts, optional Carbon dashboard, Carbon door panels, Carbon handbrake and shifter all unmarked and as new just as they left the factory back in February 1997. Sound is provided by the Porsche CDR 21 single CD/radio unit through multi way factory fit speakers and tweeters. The boot area is complete with original unmarked carpet, courtesy light, tool kit and warning triangle again all as new... Amazing throughout
Finished in factory Pastel Yellow (code L12M), and has a brilliant unmarked uniformed deep mirror shine throughout. All original panels are perfectly straight and gaps as per it left the factory, the original paper production stickers are evident on the door sills and on the inside of the bonnet. The rear wing protection foils have just been replaced as they discolour with age. All original lights front and rear are in exceptional order with uniformed colour and a silky polished finish. The teardrop mirrors are unmarked and all original factory glass is perfect. The Targa top has been fully serviced and operates with ease as does the retractable sunblind. She sits beautifully benefitting from the Factory option 033 - Sports Lowered Chassis (Front 10mm and Rear 20mm) Stunning…
Equipped with original Porsche Factory Option distinctive 2-piece split rim 17-inch refurbished wheels shod with all matching new factory specification Pirelli P Zero tyres, dressed with Porsche coloured crested centre caps. The brake discs and pads have recently been replaced, all 4 original brake calipers look as new, black with embossed Porsche logo. It doesn’t get any better than this the attention to detail is second to none…
Porsche’s VarioRam induction system was designed to improve low to mid-range torque by optimising airflow at different rpms. Introduced on the 993 Carrera RS’s M64/20 engine in 1995, the technology was then rolled out onto the standard 993 Carrera range with the introduction of the 1996 M64/21 engine. Its discontinuation marked the end of air-cooled Porsches, with the 993 being the last air-cooled 911. Needless to say this 3.6 Targa Tiptronic 'S' is super quiet, idles beautifully, pulls very strongly throughout the rev range and starts with ease hot or cold. The engine bay is all original and detailed. With a 0-60 in just 5.4 sec, top speed of 171 mph and that flat 6 engine note you cannot fail to smile.
Something extraordinary does not just happen somehow, somewhere. It happens at a very particular place. Hand-crafted. With experience. With passion. And through the inspiration of customers. Experts in their profession pass on these ideas and the personality of the buyers to the vehicle – and thus make a Porsche “Your” Porsche.
Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur...
Here we have a chance to own a very rare collector quality Porsche Exclusive Special Order 993 Targa, this car was registered new on the 12th February 1997 and is a correct C16 Great Britain specification car. It's clear to see that its been truly pampered and cherished throughout it's lifetime.
The history file contains the original 2 Porsche keys, Porsche Leather Bound folder with all official handbooks and service records proving the genuine low mileage. Other documents include past MOTs, service invoices and a Porsche UK Vehicle Identification Specification Sheet.
A full bumper to bumper major service has just been completed by P.C.T Select Porsche Specialist with all fluids changed, MOT Until November 2021 and of course this 911 is HPI Clear.
The 993 Targa had a short production run of only 3 years and a total of 4619 cars produced of which 1151 of these were for the US and Canada making this Special Factory Order Genuine UK C16 Code car very rare indeed and a fantastic investment opportunity.
This 993 Targa is possibly one of the finest we have seen. With its very low documented mileage, only 5 previous owners, genuine UK supplied car and originality it's one not to be missed.
Regarded as the 993 generation of the 911 is often referred to as the best and most desirable of the 911 series, not only because of its beauty, but also because of its great performance, even by modern standards. The 993 is quoted as "the last complete 'modern classic' ” the 993 was and forever will be that last fresh breath of air that Porsche gave the world; elegance and muscle all in one package.
The Targa version of the 993 was introduced in model year 1996 and saw the debut of the so-called "greenhouse" system: a retractable glass roof, a design continued on the 996 and 997 Targa. The glass roof would retract underneath the rear window revealing a large opening. This system was a complete redesign, as previous Targa models had a removable roof section and a wide B-pillar functioning as a roll bar. The new glass roof design allowed the 993 Targa to retain the same side-on profile as the other 911 Carrera variants and finish without the inconvenience of storing the removed top of the old system. The Targa has the body of the convertible with the Targa glass roof replacing the fabric roof.
