This incredible MGB LE Roadster was sold new to Mr H. Wiggins of Lichfield, Staffordshire on 26th November 1980. The vehicle at the time cost £6127 new and because of demand they were changing hands at £7800. This Limited Edition Roadster being 1 of only 420 produced and 1 of only 208 produced with factory wire wheels made it a very sought after vehicle. Mr Wiggins a car collector decided to not register the car and keep it in storage preserving it for the future.
The LE was first registered for the road on 5th April 1990 and advertised for sale in the Sunday Times and purchased by the second owner Mr J.C. Shonfeld of Stockport, Cheshire. A full 4 page detailed examination of the vehicle was carried out by Strange, Strange & Partners Vehicle Consultants, Assessors and Valuers for Mr Shonfeld 18th April 1990. The report states the vehicle at that time was purchased for £20,000.

Wire wheels were an option on the roadster version only and the car was finished in bronze metallic paint with gold LE stripes running the length of the car bodywork. The interior was upholstered in orange and brown striped cloth trim and this last of the line MGB carried a price tag of £6,108 for the Roadster and £6,576 for the GT.
