Luxurious Camper Van with a Richard Booth bespoke special customer order conversion in oak with contrasting pale grey / emerald green upholstery, dark grey headlining with matching sunvisors, tailor made total enclosure curtains and a hidden safe... Stunning throughout.  

The conversion was completed December 2018 and has only been used a handful of times since hence still as has that brand new feel and unmarked.  Fitted with a SMEV 2 way gas hob, Dometic digitally controlled fridge (12v/240v), LED lighting, iconic side elevating full width Dormobile Pop-top roof with two fixed windows and two opening sky lights. Rusty Lee Rock n' Roll double bed with new memory foam mattress topper.  Leisure battery (charges with vehicle), removable table that stores discretely away and plenty of storage space.

The rare walk through cab area is equally as luxurious, fully refurbished original seats, Chromelondon NOS Blaupunkt Vintage FM Radio with MP3 Autoswitch and discrete VW Dash speaker, original roof air flow system, and fully functional original cab heating. The original Bakelite steering wheel is in very good order, unspoilt dashboard and the original speedo works well. The bespoke hand made oak centre console contains 2 cup and seatbelt clip  holders and large storage box.

To summarise this is an exceptionally high quality bespoke interior that compliments this desirable and rare walk through camper.

Exterior

This distinctive and desirable first generation T1 Splittie was subject to a bare metal restoration with a full photographic record and completed March 2018.

Being a genuine factory RHD means the barn doors open on the left hand side.

The stunning two-tone paintwork in Khaki & Mint green has a deep bright uniformed shine throughout with super straight panels, excellent panel fit and gaps. Almost all of the glass in the 11-window shell is original VW, all rubber seals have been replaced, 2 x pop-out side windows. All external lights, deluxe trim and brightwork are in stunning order. One key fits the iginition barrel and all external locks this has just been completed at a cost of in excess of £800.

The chassis is in exellent order and has been professionally but lightly waxoyled. The Splittie rides on professionally fitted I.R.S. and has been subtly lowered without compromising comfort for long journeys.

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes

Filling the arches are set of new and unmarked 15x4.5" Fuchs style chrome plated aluminum 5 stud 911 alloy wheels, matching chrome centre caps with Stuttgart logos, shod with all matching excellent 185/65 R15 tyres.  The brakes have been upgraded to servo-assisted front disc brakes. The brakes are very good and much improved over the original VW setup.

Engine & Transmission

The spotlessly clean engine bay houses the original specification 1493cc 4-cylinder Single Port Air-Cooled rear mounted Boxer engine. Needless to say she runs perfectly with no issues, starts from hot or cold easily and idles as it should. The clutch is light and progressive in operation, the 4-speed fully synchronized gearbox selects gears easily... Wonderful, a joy to drive and what an unmistakable sound track.

A CE approved automated engine bay fire suppression sytem has also been fitted.
