Lavishly trimmed in fine ivory leather with a ruffled design along with matching leather door cards which are immaculate. The wooden dash facia has been refurbished an is unmarked. New contrasting deep pile tan carpets have been fitted throughout. The original Jaeger & Lucas instrument gauges all work perfectly and look stunning complimented by a Mota-Lita wooden rim steering wheel (original cream bakelite steering wheel included). All electrical switches work as they should. A discrete box in the rear houses the immaculate side screens. Seatbelts have been professionally fitted. Simply beautiful…
Finished in Karman Red the uniformed paintwork gives a deep gloss shine. All panels and wings are in excellent order with no dinks, dents or scuffs, the panel fit is perfect. The chrome work has a mirror finish throughout. The original radiator looks amazing as you can see from the pictures. The underside of the car is solid, new floors, framework excellent being fully painted during the restoration. The Moss hood, tonneau cover and side screens are all in excellent order the rear window crystal clear. A quality Amco style removable luggage rack complements the look of this lovely TD.
The original steel pressed vented wheels have been fully refurbished, the original chrome hubcaps with the famous octagonal MG badging are in fantastic order. Sitting on all matching excellent Vredestein Sprint Classic 165/80 R15 tyres. The brake system what completely overhauled in 2017 and has just been fully adjusted so she pulls up with ease and perfectly straight.
The XPAG 1250cc in-line four engine with twin SU carburettors runs perfectly and sounds beautiful through the full stainless steel exhaust. Starting through the electronic ignition is instant hot or cold. Idling is perfectly balanced and she pulls strong in every gear. The single plate dry clutch is light and precise in operation and the four speed gearbox with synchromesh on top three gears selects with ease. The engine bay is detailed throughout and supports the original MG brass vehicle identification plaques... Such fun to drive.
This UK home Market RHD Series "TD" was built June 1951. The TD was acquired by Foster Hill Carriage Company 15th July 1980 and was restored then exported to the USA where it resided for some 35 years before returning back to the UK in 2017. The car spent much of its time in New England its keeper from Rhode Island was an active club member of The British Motorcars of New England (BMCNE). The club which meets monthly is dedicated to vintage and classic British cars. The club runs tours, helps with the preservation and safety of the cars and has its own newspaper. A former keeper purchased the car from a classic car company in New York after it had been extensively restored and returned it back to the UK in 2017. The history file contains many images of the car State side.

The MG Midget sport cars produced from 1936 till 1955 are known as the MG Series T-Type Midget. The production was started in 1936 with the TA, after which the TB followed just before the outbreak of World War II. After the war in 1945, the production was continued with the MG TC. In 1949 the MG TD was introduced, after which in 1953 the latest model in the T-series was introduced, the MG TF. The production was stopped in 1955, 20 years after of the first T-type was introduces. The MGA was introduced in 1955, for which the T-types were the predecessor's. In total 29,664 TD's were built making it the most popular of all the T series Midgets.
