Interior & Equipment
The interior of this Beetle has been fully restored to the highest standards which includes; Audi TT leather seats with contrasting red and white check centres, matching door panels, rear seat and parcel shelf, new headlining, rear seat belts Paris retractable roof and new full carpet set with sound deadening and insulation. The factory original Bakelite D-Ring steering wheel is in fantastic order as are all the original VW controls and gauges which work perfectly as they were intended. Extras include; EMPI gear lever, VDO oil temp, oil pressure and volt meter gauges, premium retro style sound system with Bluetooth telephone connectivity, CD, SD and MP3, A truly fantastic and vibrant interior which complements this lovely car.
Exterior
The Beetle was subject to a body off restoration stripped back to a bare shell from 2014 to completion May 2016. The history file contains over 900 images of the car before, during and after restoration. A true nut and bolt restoration which included new floor pans, new wings etc. the body is still in outstanding condition and the bright red paintwork simply stunning.
As you can see from the pictures the panel fit is excellent, the original VW glass and quarter lights are in perfect order as are all the lights. The underside of the car is as detailed as the top. Complimented with Billet style running boards this is a stunning looking Bug...
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Filling the arches are set of unmarked 4 spoke 15-Inch 5.5J black diamond cut alloy wheels, shod with excellent premium tyres.
As part of the restoration work the brakes were upgraded to a dual circuit brake system with front disc conversion, the stopping power is excellent with a good positive feel to the pedal.
Engine & Transmission
The 1641cc 4-cylinder Twin Port Air-Cooled rear mounted engine sits in a beautifully fully detailed engine bay. The engine was fully rebuilt with new 87mm barrels, new pistons etc, new distributor, coil, fuel lines and pump, new fuel tank, new Twin Weber ICT34 carburettors the list goes on and on all work completed during the restoration and has covered a mere 3800 miles since. The EMPI short shift gear stick selects all gears positively, the clutch is light and positive... Perfect.
The unmistakable sound of the VW Beetle is legendary and this particular car is no exception courtesy of a new two tip Mil exhaust system, ceramic coated. The engine pulls strongly with no hesitation, it cruises effortlessly and idles as it should… Wonderful and such fun to drive.
Summary
This desirable original UK RHD 1969 model year Beetle was built 20th February 1969, left the factory 26th February 1969 with destination England all clarified by the Heritage Certificate.
The detailed history file contains thousands of pounds worth of receipts and invoices for parts and work undertaken during the restoration of 2014 to 2016. The all import and photographic record of over 900 images covers every aspect of the attention to detail that has gone into this show-stopping Beetle. Since restoration the car has covered a little over 3800 miles and always garaged. Extensive servicing, modifications and upgrades all documented were carried out July 2021 by BeetleLink, Farnham totalling £4600.
A full 12 month MOT will be issued upon sale and of course this Beetle is HPi clear with certificate included.
