The cockpit of the 2000 Spider Veloce plays strongly on the senses, luxurious and functional. Contoured designed seats with adjustable headrests, auxiliary instruments angled towards the driver and all chrome finished giving the Italian flair.
The original interior is in fine order, new deep pile twist black carpets, excellent door cars and everything working as it should. The original Alfa deeply dished wood grain steering wheel is unmarked.
Its Battista Pininfarina styling is uncluttered, distinctive, and uncommonly elegant this makes the 2000 Spider Veloce Kamm Tail a true sports car...
Initially restored 2003 by Colne Classics, Essex with photographic evidence at a cost of just over £6000. The beautiful flawless deep red paintwork was refreshed again in 2010, no rust or rot, factory panel fit and gaps, fully waxoiled underside during the mild 2003 restoration. Brightwork, lighting and glass are mainly original and in outstanding order. The roof is excellent with a very clear rear screen, the tonneau is new.
A very solid show standard car that sits perfectly just as Alfa intended.
Recently refurbished Factory Alfa Romeo sculptured cast alloy wheels sitting on all matching excellent Bridgestone B391 185/70 R14 tyres
Disk brakes on all four wheels using Alfa's hydraulic circuit that assures proper braking balance at all four wheels. A full new braking system all round has been fitted including brake discs, calipers and master cylinder.
New Bilstein suspension all round.
The all-aluminium double overhead camshaft engine refined since 1924 in gruelling racing competition is at the heart of the 2000 Spider Veloce. It is the most sophisticated engine of the time, light weight, efficient and long lived.
This engine delivers 90% of maximum rated torque at any speed between 2200 and 5300 rpm, at 70 mph the engine is only using half of its power.
Fully rebuilt in 2010 and running on unleaded fuel. Starts easily hot or cold, the twin Webbers have been ultrasonic cleaned and fully refurbished, very smooth clutch and gearbox, no fluid leaks. The throaty twin cam sound combined with the K&N suction can only be described as magical.
Its Battista Pininfarina styling is uncluttered, distinctive and uncommonly elegant makes the 2000 Spider Veloce a true sports car.
Precision, comfort and excellence are hallmarks of the 2000 Spider Veloce.

In 1970, the first significant change to the exterior styling was introduced on the 1750 Spider Veloce, with the original's distinctive elongated round tail changed to a more conventional cut-off tail known as a "Kamm tail". Numerous other small changes took place both inside and out, such as a slightly different grille, new door handles, a more raked windscreen, top-hinged pedals and improved interior trim. 1971 saw the Spider Veloce get a new, larger powerplant, a 1962 cc, 132 hp unit, and consequently, the name was changed from 1750 to 2000 Spider Veloce.
The 1300 and 2000 cars were modified in 1974 and 1975 respectively to include two small seats behind the front seats, becoming a "two plus two" four-seater. Also, between 1974 and 1976, the early-style stainless-steel bumpers were discontinued and replaced with black, rubber-clad units to meet increasingly stringent North American crash requirements.
