Interior & Equipment
The original 2+2 leather interior has been completely re-trimmed to the highest standard during the restoration with no expense spared including deep pile luxury carpets throughout complemented with Healey branded overmats, it can only be described as outstanding. The original Bakelite Banjo steering wheel is in first class order. All the original Smiths gauges have been fully serviced and work perfectly as they should. The attention to detail is second to none and one of the finest interiors we have seen... Stunning
Exterior
Finished in original Ivory White (Code 2379). The bodywork and chassis was subject to an extensive restoration during 2010 to 2012. The history file contains a full photographic record (120+ Pictures) of before, during and after restoration. The complete body and chassis bare metal stripped, sanded/painted to perfection giving a uniformed deep gloss shine. It's clear to see from the pictures that it's still stunning today which is testament to the outstanding quality of workmanship carried out 8 years ago. The panel fit is perfect throughout as per it left the factory, all panels are the originals. All body fittings, trims, lights, bumpers, door handles etc. were all refurbished or replaced using genuine parts where possible. The red vinyl hood was replaced during the restoration and still looks as if its never been used.
The underside of the car is equally as impressive as the top, works included stripped and painted fuel tank, suspension arms, covers, propshaft, diff, leaf springs etc etc the list goes on and on nothing missed.
The attention to detail and condition... Simply amazing
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
The chrome 60 spoke wire wheels and chrome spinners are in fantastic blemish free order. All matching quality Maxxis Victra 510 tyres 165/80 R15 have plenty of tread remaining.
The original Girling disc front brake system and rear drums have been fully restored with all new brake lines, refurbished and painted calipers, they pull up strong and are perfectly balanced.
Engine & Transmission
The fully detailed engine and engine bay houses the incredible original matching numbers 2912cc OHV 6-cyllinder inline engine combined with the manual 4 speed gearbox with overdrive. Needless to say she runs perfectly with no overheating issues and starts perfectly on the button from hot or cold, the sound is tremendous through the full stainless steel exhaust system. The new clutch is light and progressive in operation, gear change positive and precise having synchromesh on top 3 gears, the overdrive comes in and out quickly and smoothly... A joy to drive and what a sound track.
Summary
Matching numbers Austin-Healey 3000 with Heritage Certificate, originally a left-hand drive BJ7 Mark IIA Convertible model delivered new to Nuffield Exports Limited USA on 27th July 1962. The Healey returned back to the UK from Oregon USA in 1989 and for 23 years remained unused and dry stored before its restoration commenced in 2010.
The only UK owner of 31 years carried out an extensive restoration undertaken during 2010 to 2012 has been fully documented in the comprehensive history file with invoices for parts and detailed work carried out, plus a full photographic record of over 120 pictures of the car before, during and after restoration,
Works carried out include a full nut & bolt extensive restoration to the highest standard with exceptional attention to detail, all original steel panels, completely restored original interior, full mechanical overhaul including brakes and suspension - all with original refurbished items or new sourced from specialist Companies. This show standard BJ7 still remains in pristine order throughout, including the underside.
Originally supplied Ivory White with black interior, it has been refinished in the same exterior colour but re-trimmed in a more striking red leather with matching carpets, hood and tonneau cover. The restoration was completed and the car back on the road in March 2012, since then it has covered a little over 900 miles.
This is an outstanding example and one of the finest Austin-Healey 3000's we have seen. Desirable and refined this one not to be missed especially with values increasing year on year.
A Fresh 12 month MOT will be issued up on sale and of course the Healey is HPI Clear.

The Austin-Healey 3000 is probably the very epitome of the classic British sports car and said to have attained classic status whilst still in production.
In January 1962 the 2+2-only MkII Convertible (or MkIIA) version of the much-loved Austin-Healey 3000 appeared, boasting long overdue refinements such as winding windows, swivelling quarter-lights and fixed foldaway hood. The reversion to easier-to-tune, twin-SU carburettors cut maximum output by 1bhp, yet thanks to the superior aerodynamics, conferred by its curved windscreen, the MkII Convertible contrived to be marginally faster than its immediate predecessor, reaching 116mph flat out. MkII production ceased in 1962 after 5,095 2+2s and 355 two-seaters had been built, though the Convertible continued until the introduction of the 3000 MkIII in 1963.
