Interior & Equipment
Perfect... The original seats and armrest were re-upholstered in black leather and piped in white during the restoration in 1983, the door cards were also replaced. The Mota-Lita MGA Works OEM Steering Wheel & Boss are perfect, all clocks and gauges work perfectly and have crystal clear glass. All switches work as they should as does the heater. The headlining is in perfect order, new black carpets & sound deadening insulation fitted throughout along with correct MG rubber floor mats.
Exterior
The stunning Chariot Red (Code RD.16) paintwork has not been touched since the bare metal re-spay in 1983 needless to say it's still stunning and blemish free today which is testament to the quality of the restoration. The panel fit throughout is as per it left the factory, simply perfect as you can see from the pictures. The bright work is excellent throughout, most parts having been re-chromed during is restoration in 1983 and perfect original clear glass all round. The underside is solid, chassis sympathetically wax oiled, the marine ply wooden floors are perfect and have regularly been treated with yacht varnish.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Fitted with flawless Minator 8 spoke 15" alloy wheels with excellent all matching Vredestein 165 HR 15 tyres. The Lockheed disc at front, drum at rear brake system has all been replaced and operates with ease pulling up straight and strong.
Engine & Transmission
The 1600 engine was completely rebuilt in 1983 and has only covered 12000 miles in the last 37 years. Starting is effortless she starts first time every time, idles beautifully and sounds perfect through the full Oselli stainless steel exhaust system. On the road she pulls strong in every gear, the 5-speed type 9 gearbox conversion fitted 2014 is light and precise in operation, later upgrades include a Peter Burgess uprated cylinder head to run on unleaded fuel and electronic ignition... A pleasure and fun to drive.

The MGA a British sports car which was made in Abingdon from May 1955 to July 1962. The original car was a Roadster with a 1500cc engine. In September 1956, a Coupé version was produced with the same engine. In April 1958, the first MGA with a 1600 twin cam engine was produced, and in May 1959 the MGA got a 1600 push rod engine. A total of 101,081 MGA’s were made, with over 90% being exported from the UK. This included cars assembled from kits of parts in Australia, South Africa, Canada, Ireland, Holland, Mexico, and even Cuba. Of the total production, 9922 were the coupé model.
