The original Jaguar bucket seats were beautifully retrimmed in July 2015 by AFL Upholstery, St. Helier, Jersey, in fine Cranberry Leather, new deep pile red carpets and underfelt, two sets of tailor-made overmats, retrimmed original door cards with flawless chrome furniture. Unmarked dashboard and leather centre console, fitted with a Motorola push-button radio.
Old English White headlining on the hardtop, retrimmed to perfection. The original refurbished dashboard presents as new, all interior lighting, crystal clear Smiths gauges, Lucas dipping rear view mirror, toggle switches and electrics work as they were intended.

A truly exceptional interior, beautifully restored and stunning throughout.
The bodywork has been meticulously prepared by specialist craftsman Gary Fowler before being expertly painted in February 2022 by renowned restorer Sean Watson of The Old Coachworks, Over Wallop, Hampshire. Finished in its original factory colour, Jaguar Golden Sand, the bodywork alone cost £16,944.
The paint finish and bodywork are magnificent, with a uniform deep gloss shine throughout, perfect factory panel fit, shut lines and gaps. The underside finish is equally as impressive as the top... Simply outstanding.
'Originality' was key during the restoration, original brightwork replated where possible or replaced with quality new items, Lucas lighting all around with better performing H4 halogen headlights, all glass unmarked and etched with the car's original registration mark.

WHEELS - Sitting on stainless steel highly polished 6.0 x 15 72-spoke wire wheels and 2-ear spinners, all matching perfect ER70VR15 Dunlop SP Sport Tyres 205/70 VR15 at a cost of £3,820.
BRAKES - The brake system was upgraded by Retro Motor Services, Wolston Nr Coventry in August 2023, A new upgraded Zeus Brake Kit was fitted plus a new servo, giving the car excellent braking feel and capability.
SUSPENSION - Fitted with fully adjustable front and rear AVO Technics dampers.
All new steering is precise and responsive... She handles beautifully.
The fully detailed engine and engine bay house the incredible Jaguar 3781cc straight-6 engine, 265 bhp at 5500 rpm, 260 ft-lb torque at 4000 rpm with triple 2-inch SU carburettors, vitreous black enamelled exhaust manifolds, electronic ignition and high performance starter motor.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate documents that this is a correct numbers matching engine. The engine was extensively rebuilt by A.A. McInnes Jaguar Specialists, Dudley Hill, Bradford on 4th March 1994 at a recorded mileage of 52,153.
On the road she cannot fail to impress and what a joy to drive. The original Moss manual gearbox was fully rebuilt in August 2026 by Clayton Classics at a cost of £4,800, a new clutch was fitted at the same time which is light in operation, gear changes slick and precise and starts hot or cold without issue.
The 3.8 Series crisp exhaust note is magical through the full stainless exhaust system with horned tailpipes.
The E-Type’s impact on the motoring world when it was first unveiled is now the stuff of legend, and for many enthusiasts, the early examples remain the most coveted and desirable of all.
The Jaguar Heritage Certificate documents this E-Type Roadster was originally built on 6th August 1964 as a UK home market vehicle, chassis number 850940, finished in Golden Sand Metallic with a black soft top, red interior, manual transmission, and dispatched to authorised Jaguar Dealers Henleys of London on 29th August 1964, she also retains her original issued registration number.
Notably this was the penultimate Series 1 Jaguar E-Type Roadster ever made and confirmed in writing by the Communications and Public Affairs Director at Jaguar Cars Limited.
The comprehensive history file documents a wealth of invoices for restoration, parts, and maintenance dating back to the 1980's, a copy of first registration documentation, just 5 previous owners from new, each recorded on a timeline plus an original sales receipt for £985 from Anthony Wolfe Motors, Northholt, Middlesex to the second keeper Mr D. Cullen dated 31st January 1968, who part exchanged his Renault Floride for £300 against it, Jaguar Heritage certificate, and past MOT certificates.
In September 2014 the car was sold to Mr S. Dorey, Saint Saviour, Jersey, where it resided until returning back to the UK in February 2021.
In excess of £50,000 has been lavished on this gorgeous Roadster between September 2021 and August 2026, with comprehensive supporting documentation recording the work undertaken. This significant investment has brought this exceptional, last but one every produced Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster to the outstanding, show-standard condition in which it presents today.

For peace of mind, a fresh 12 month MOT will be completed upon sale.
The HPi reports states that in September 1997, 29 years ago the car was a CAT C write off and the insurance company decided it was uneconomical to repair. The history file does not document any of this but does document that the owner from 1992 to July 1997 lavished thousands of pounds on servicing and maintenance plus enjoyed many European trips to France and Switzerland. Today the car as you can see is in impeccable order.
