Jaguar XJS Convertible 1989

Here we have a chance to own a very desirable Jaguar XJS Convertible 5.3 V12 in the best colour combination of red coachwork and cream leather. This car was registered new on the 1st August 1989 by Charles Clark Jaguar, Stourbridge and sold to Kelly Group Limited of West Bromwich.  The car had several owners within the Company and it remained in their ownership until April 2002.  It's clear to see it has been truly pampered and cherished throughout its life time.

The history file contains the original 2 Jaguar keys, Jaguar Leather Bound folder with all official handbooks, a comprehensive stamped Jaguar Service record, original XJ-S sales brochure, every mot from 1998 to the present day, receipts and invoices for thousands of pounds worth of servicing and maintenance.  This documentation also proves the genuine low mileage.

Recent expenditure in excess of £4000 has been spent during 2020 bringing this XJS into top condition.  Work includes, new rear brake system, full bumper to bumber major service with all fluids changed plus many replacement wear and tear parts renewed such as bushes, ball joints, track rod ends etc.

A Fresh 12 month MOT will be issued up on sale and of course the XJS is HPI Clear.

This is a desirable, usable and refined classic car with values increasing year on year.

Along with superb parts availability, mechanical simplicity, very practical and owners club support all combined offer worry free classic car motoring allowing the new owner to concentrate solely on enjoyment.

More details

Launched in 1975 the XJ-S had a 5.3-litre V12 engine.  Most were autos.  HE (High Efficiency) V12 offered better fuel economy from July 1981.  Jaguars 3.6-litre straight six twin-cam joined in 1983. Manual only until auto added in 1988.  1983 saw the 3.6-litre XJ-SC cabriolet, with a V12 version in 1985.  Both were discontinued in 1987 in favour of the 1988 convertible with frameless windows and a one piece hood. 1991 saw relaunch of the XJS (minus hyphen). Changes included revised rear side windows, tail lights and 4.0-litre straight six engine option. Six cylinder 4.0 convertible joined the existing V12 version in 1992, while the following year saw a 6.0-litre version of the V12 available.  XJS production ended in April 1996.
