Immaculate and unmarked Connolly Stone Beige leather, (Code SMJ) with a ruched pattern and being a UK home market car the Elm Burr veneer facia panel, centre console and door cappings are flawless the interior is pure luxury. The original VDO black-on-white gauges all work perfectly, all interior chrome fittings are of a very high standard. The deep pile dark stone beige carpets with original MG carpet overmats are free from wear and look as new. Exterior
The immediately recognisable hourglass shape of the MG RV8 is finished in optional Flame Red (Code COF) this is 1 of only 16 produced in this colour, 15 for the UK Market and 1 for Europe. The all original paintwork has a uniformed and deep gloss finish throughout. The original correct panels produced by Abbey Panels are virtually unmarked and panel fit as per it left the factory, no evidence of corrosion as expected with a car that has spent most of its life tucked away in a garage. The original factory fitted soft top made by Tickford is pristine and rear screen perfectly clear, the original half tonneau is perfect also comes with a full tonneau. All original external decals are in exceptional order as is the brightwork and lights. The original windscreen still supports the factory etched chassis number… A Classic is born.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
The unmistakeable 5 lattice cast alloy 15x6J road wheels have been fully diamond cut and restored to the highest standard to remove the inherent lacquer lifting issues that plagued these cars. The original MG centre security caps are unmarked. The Zender split rim bolts have no corrosion or damage. All Matching Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response 205/65 R15 tyres are as new the spare brand new. The Servo assisted ventilated front disc brakes with 4-piston callipers and rear drums give the car excellent braking feel and capability.
Engine & Transmission
The 3.9 litre V8 is extremely usable with lots of torque and 190bhp giving effortless midrange power. 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 135mph this MG is no slouch.
The engine and engine bay is spotlessly clean and factory original with all markings plates and stickers present. The addictive V8 burble through the twin original exhaust is magical. The strong 5-speed gearbox is perfect changing with ease and precisely, the clutch is light and progressive, recent electric power steering has been fitted making it a joy to drive.
