Interior & Equipment
The original interior was subject to an extensive re-trim by Richmond & James Ltd Car Upholsterers, Waterlooville, Hampshire.
Works included stripping the original seats, frames restored and painted, new springs, Pirelli webbing, and retrimmed in fine tan leather throughout. New deep pile contrasting black carpets throughout including the boot area, new sound deadening underfelt, matching leather door cards with tramline stitch detail, all original chrome throughout refinished by Silvabronz, Alton, Hampshire, black leather trimmed dashboard and door cappings all present in perfect order.
The original Veglia rev counter, water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, fuel gauge and speedometer were all overhauled by Speedy Cables at a cost of £1,933 the speedometer was set to zero.
All interior lighting, switches and electrics work as they were intended. CCS Vintage DAB radio with a chrome electric aerial and Moto-Lita 16" MK9 Custom wood rim steering wheel with original Alfa Romeo centre boss completes this stunning interior... Exceptional attention to detail.
The whole interior presents in perfect order and cost in the region of £12,000 when completed in the Spring of 2022.
Exterior
A complete bare metal strip, rebuild and paint by Project Heaven Restoration, Kings Cliffe, Peterborough and assisted by Fitch Customs for specialist metalwork and fabrication all completed in the Autumn of 2018 at a cost in excess of £22,000. Complete with photographic record of the car before, during and after restoration.
The Chiltern Green metallic paint finish is magnificent with a uniform deep gloss shine throughout, perfect factory panel fit, shut lines and gaps. The underside finish in flawless black stone chip and looks as fresh as the day it was applied seven years ago... Simply outstanding.
All the original brightwork has been replated where possible or replaced with quality new items. Lucas fog lights, Altissimo front indicators, Carello rear light units and better performing H4 halogen headlights, all unmarked.
New windscreen and door glass with green tint to pattern suppled by Uroglas, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, present in perfect scratch free order.
A new correct specification black mohair hood fitted with a new hood frame. The hood opens and closes with ease and fits perfectly...
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Wheels - Magnificent Turrino hand built alloy rim 72 spoke wire wheels and spinners (£4,556), fitted with excellent all matching 185/75 x 16 tyres.
Brakes - The brake system has been completely overhauled, discs all round with new calipers, master and slave cylinders, by Jim Stokes Workshops.
All new steering is precise and responsive, fully rebuilt suspension throughout with Koni front shock absorbers... She handles beautifully.
Engine & Transmission
Fitted with the correct 2584cc 6 cylinder in-line twin-cam engine designed on classic Alfa Romeo lines and developed through vast Alfa racing experience.
The engine has been stripped and fully rebuilt during the eight year restoration. Complete with fully refurbished, correct and rare triple Solex PHH carburettors which are often replaced during restoration. Fully rebuilt original 5 speed gearbox and rear axle, alternator housed in the period dynamo body and powerful reduction gear lightweight starter motor.
October 2025 saw the cylinder head being meticulously overhauled by noted Blackpool Road and Rally. The history file contains a schedule of work carried out.
On the road she cannot fail to impress and what a joy to drive. The original 5 speed gearbox selects with ease, the clutch is light in operation, gear changes slick and precise and starts hot or cold without issue... A real joy to drive and what a crisp Alfa soundtrack

This 2600 Spider is a rare Tipo 106.08 model, a factory righthand drive car and registered new in the United Kingdom on the 10th May 1966. It's 1 of just 103 RHD cars built by Alfa Romeo and Carrozzeria Touring of Milan.
The eight year comprehensive restoration started in the summer of 2014 and completed August 2022. Every aspect of this outstanding grand tourer has been restored and where possible original components refurbished or repaired to as good as new rather than replaced.
The history file documents hundreds of invoices for parts and work carried out by specialist companies. Multiple hand written cost sheets by date over the eight years detail £103,954 spent creating this outstanding example. The final touches for completion were carried out by renowned Alfa Romeo specialist Jim Stokes Workshops, Pipers Wood Industrial Park on the outskirts of Waterlooville in Hampshire, at a cost of £10,549.
Desirable and refined, for concours shows, touring or investment, this is a first quality example fresh from a very high end private car collection and possibly the best 2600 Spider available today.
