The unique Tickford hinge back bucket seats have been lavishly trimmed in beige Connolly leather along with immaculate matching leather door cards. The wooden dash facia and door cappings have been extensively refurbished to the highest standards, the dash furnished with the original University Motors badge, and coachbuilder plate on the windscreen frame.
New buff Wilton carpets fitted throughout. The original Jaeger & Lucas instrument gauges all work perfectly and look stunning. Currently fitted with a smaller 15.5 inch Brooklands steering wheel for easier access, we also have the original fully restored at great expense cream bakelite steering wheel. All electrical switches work as they were intended as does the 30 mph warning light. Simply beautiful…
1999 saw the start of the most exacting of restorations by a prominent MG Car Club member. The original car was still intact which accounts for the accuracy and authenticity of the restoration which took many years to complete.
The chassis was completely stripped and the whole body rebuilt from the ground up creating this outstanding example we have today.
All original door furniture, window wind mechanisms, trademark Tickford hood irons and cantilevering windscreen, intricate roof to screen fittings all refurbished, they present and work perfectly.
Finished in gloss black the uniformed paintwork gives a deep gloss shine and is flawless throughout. All panels and wings are in excellent order, the panel fit is perfect and door closures as per it left the coachbuilders.
All brightwork has a mirror finish throughout much of it being replated to the highest standards. The underside of the car is equally as impressive as the top, new floors, restored excellent framework, and factory finish paintwork throughout.

The 5 x 48 spoke painted wire wheels and MG 2 ear chrome spinners are in stunning blemish free order and fitted with all matching excellent Dunlop 4.50 -19 tyres.
Brakes - The Lockheed hydraulic braking system has been fully overhauled, she pulls up with ease and perfectly straight.
Steering - The Bishop Cam steering has been fully rebuilt and offers a precise and responsive feel.
Suspension - The original Luvax shock absorbers have been fully restored and feel well balanced on the road.
The original numbers matching 1292cc OHV in-line four cylinder engine with twin SU carburettors, 4 speed gearbox and differential have been completely stripped and rebuilt during its extensive restoration. The car has been completely rewired with the original CJR3 fuse box with three brush dynamo.
On the road she runs perfectly and sounds beautiful. Starting hot or cold is instant, idling is perfectly balanced and she pulls well in every gear. The original 4-speed gearbox selects with ease, the clutch light and progressive.
The engine and engine bay are fully detailed throughout, plus in addition you have a full and correct tool kit in the original trays.
MG TA Tickford 3-Position Drophead Coupe...
Built 12th September 1938, delivered to Salmons & Sons of Newport Pagnell 20th October 1938 and first registered 11th March 1939 to one R Taylor Esq of Scunthorpe who we understand kept the car in original condition for much of its 60 year life prior to restoration.
1999 saw the start of a restoration to exacting standards over many years by a prominent MG Car Club member and this is the near concours vehicle we have here today.
The history file contains past owner information, the car being on display at the NEC Classic Car Show in November 2008, MG Series T Instruction Manual plus a sales receipt and full description of the car and its history from Barry Walker MGs in August 2022.
