Lavishly trimmed in fine emerald leather with a ruffled design along with matching leather facia dash and door cards of which are all unmarked and immaculate. From the history file the leather dates back to the 1990’s and still looks as fresh today. Contrasting new deep pile carpets in chocolate have been fitted along with a removable footrest in the passenger footwell. The original instrument gauges and switches all work perfectly and look stunning complimented by a moss wooden rim steering wheel. A hidden 12v socket has been professionally installed should you require a charging facility. A discrete box in the rear houses the immaculate side screens. Finished in Coffee over Cream the uniformed paintwork is in great order considering it was restored in Canada 28 years ago. All panels and wings are in excellent order with no dinks, dents or scuffs. The chrome work has a mirror finish throughout. The radiator was fully restored in 2015 and looks amazing as you can see from the pictures. The underside of the car is solid, framework excellent and a light coating of underseal applied for future protection. The cream hood, tonneau cover and matching spare wheel cover are in excellent order as is the super clear rear window. A Runyon quality removable luggage rack complements the look of this lovely TD.
The original steel pressed vented wheels have been fully refurbished and the original chrome hubcaps are in fantastic order with the famous octagonal MG badging unmarked. Sitting on all matching new 165/80 R15 tyres. The brake system what completely overhauled in 2015, she pulls up with ease and perfectly straight.
The matching numbers original XPAG 1250cc in-line four engine with twin SU carburettors runs perfectly and sounds beautiful through the full stainless steel exhaust. Starting through the electronic ignition is instant hot or cold. Idling is perfectly balanced and she pulls strong in every gear. The single plate dry clutch is light and precise in operation and the four speed gearbox with synchromesh on top three gears selects with ease. The engine bay is detailed throughout and supports the original MG brass vehicle identification plaques along with the factory stamped engine and type numbers on the cylinder block. The history file contains thousands of pounds of servicing receipts and repairs dating back to 1958 this has been one cherished and loved TD.
The fully documented history file is simply amazing with receipts from 1959 to the present day. The car was built 19th March 1953 and supplied new 1st April 1953 from Abingdon as a right hand drive export vehicle to Senior Inspector I.M Henson c/o Tsun Wan Police Station, Kai Tak, Kowloon registration number 3054. From here it was then homed in South Africa, Canada, Azazona, Idaho, Long Beach California then back to the UK in 2014. Supported by a chest full of original paperwork filed by year for servicing, repairs, and a 5 year full restoration completed in 1990 by a Senior Moss employee in Canada. Different country registration and taxation documents detail its travels around the world and is a fasinating read.
The car has been identified by the T-Register records as being a correct matching numbers vehicle and this is doucumented in the history file.

The MG Midget sport cars produced from 1936 till 1955 are known as the MG Series T-Type Midget. The production was started in 1936 with the TA, after which the TB followed just before the outbreak of World War II. After the war in 1945, the production was continued with the MG TC. In 1949 the MG TD was introduced, after which in 1953 the latest model in the T-series was introduced, the MG TF. The production was stopped in 1955, 20 years after of the first T-type was introduces. The MGA was introduced in 1955, for which the T-types were the predecessor's. In total 29,664 TD's were built making it the most popular of all the T series Midgets.
