Exterior
Beautifully crafted Carrera RSR 2.8 bodywork...
Full bare body shell restoration rebuilt to Carrera RSR 2.8 iconic stance using all new lightweight steel panels, including wings, rear arches, sills, B-posts, front and rear panels, kidney bowls, and bonnet with centre fuel filler. Composite lightweight front and rear bumpers and carbon-composite ducktail transformed this C16 UK supplied 1987 model year Carrera 3.2 Coupe into the full RSR bodywork of the 1973 2.8 RSR.
The special order Porsche OEM Chartreuse Green paintwork, Porsche decals, exterior trim, and lights present beautifully.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Wheels - Filling the arches are a set of unmarked Braid RSR lightweight competition wheels, 9x16” front and 10x16” rear fitted with all matching excellent Toyo Proxes TR1 205/50 R16 front and 245/45 R16 rear.
Brakes - Powerful and reassuring Carrera 3.2 Clubsport brakes with Yellowstuff competition pads.
Suspension - Clubsport Bilstein sport-spec dampers and uprated torsion bars.
Engine & Transmission
The original Carrera 3.2 engine was rebuilt from the bare crankcases and upgraded to the Rennsport Blueprint 3.4 flat-6 engine...
3.4 litre high compression (11.5-1) pistons in Nikasil liners, Rennsport in-house developed AT Power throttle injection system with fully programmable standalone engine management system, Rennsport competition camshafts, Getrag G50 gearbox, hydraulic clutch, and Quaife limited-slip differential.
Built for fast road use producing around 300hp...
Driving brings your senses alive, incredible road holding from the Bilstein suspension, excellent confidence inspiring brakes from the Clubsport setup, delivers liner strong power throughout the rev range, and a magical sound from the flat-6 with sports exhaust system.
Summary
Rennsport RSR build... Every part either replaced with new or refurbished to the highest standards.
Completed 22nd October 2020 at a cost of £195,000. Rennsport Blueprint 3.4 litre engine upgrade including complete throttle body injection system, wiring and ECU carried out 18th March 2022 at a cost of £18,000 bringing the total build cost of this stunning 911 to £213,000. We understand a newly commissioned build such as this today would cost in excess of £280,000. The odometer clock was zeroed at the time of the Rennsport completion and has covered a mere 2664 miles since.
The history file contains 30 past MOT certificates back to the first dated 28th November 1990, 19 past tax discs, Rennsport maintenance record, Classic Porsche seven page magazine feature dated May 2022, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, Rennsport original sales and engine upgrade invoices.
The original donor car was a correct C16 UK supplied 1987 model year Carrera 3.2 Coupe.
Cherished plate TPC 911E is included in the sale.
A Fresh 12 month MOT and full service will be completed upon sale and of course, this RSR is HPI Clear.
