Instruments and Electrics -
Speedometer, sports tachometer, original switchgear, self cancelling indicators, ignition switch incorporating parking light, (2 original Yamaha keys fit all locks).
Adjustable mirror, helmet lock, kick starter, manual choke, high beam light, neutral light, turn signal light, headlight switch, horn, engine stop switch, manual fuel valve with reserve, rear footrests.
Exterior
Completely original, never restored or damaged, every item is original as it left the factory 43 years ago. Finished in the original XT white, black and red paintwork which is unmarked.
The removable painted side panels have no marks or hairline cracks and still support the original supplying dealer sticker Bill Doran Garages Ltd.
The original Yamaha seat cover is as new complete with the unbroken pillion strap. The black tubular frame is outstanding with no evidence of corrosion as this XT has never seen adverse weather or been used off-road, under the seat you will find the original Yamaha complete tool kit in its embossed plastic pouch.
All original Yamaha lighting and all plastics present as new, perfect... An unrepeatable example.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
The Factory original Takasago Yamaha spoked wheels have an excellent original gold finish and are fitted with the original Bridgestone Trail Wing tyres, Front 3.00-21 and rear 4.60-17.
Original drum brakes front and rear provide adequate braking.
Engine & Transmission
Fitted with Yamaha's 249cc single-overhead-camshaft engine, 21hp. The long-stroke engine was designed to provide maximum torque for off road riding and equally be used for commuting or countryside blasts.
Five-Speed gearbox with a heavy duty mulitplate clutch. On the road it pulls strongly through the 5 gears, lightweight, nimble and feels like a brand new bike.
The engine presents as new and the factory sump guard is unmarked.

Supplied new by Bill Doran Garages Limited, Whitchurch Road, Wellington, Telford, Shropshire on 1st January 1981.
The history file documents this genuine 1409 mile XT has been family owned from new, 2 owners from uncle to nephew in July 2001.
The file also contains the original bill of sale dated 6th December 1980 from Bill Doran Garages, servicing receipts, hand written log of servicing and maintenance, polaroid images of the bike from new, past MOT certificates including the first dated 6th July 1984 at 671 miles, old tax discs, original registration documents, Motorcycle Weekly newspaper cutting from 10th January 1981 featuring the XT250, original Yamaha owners manual, Yamaha workshop manual, Yamaha warranty and service booklet all presented in a Rolls Royce buff folder from where the original owner worked as an engineer.
Here we have a unique opportunity to own a completely original Yamaha XT, never restored, repaired or damaged absolutely everything is original. A classic Yamaha that would sit proudly in anyone's collection or simply enjoy on those sunny days out, it's one not to be missed.
