The original adjustable sports De-luxe seats have been completely reupholstered in grey leather piped in navy, door cards and dash facia refurbished, new deep pile navy carpets throughout piped in navy. All work carried out during the extensive 4 year restoration and completed 2008... Still presenting in exceptional order.
The Moto Lita classic woodrim and 18 rivet polished steering wheel & boss are as new. All original Jaeger clocks and gauges work perfectly and have crystal clear glass. All switches work as they were intended, internal brightwork and headlining all in perfect order... Simply outstanding cockpit.
The BLMC Midnight Blue (Code 899) paintwork is stunning which is testament to the quality of the bare metal nut and bolt 4 year restoration. Completed in 2008 at a cost of circa £60,000 by the famous MGA restorer Terry Drinkwater who then held it in his private ownership for many years.
The history file contains 120+ images of the car before, during and after restoration, the panel fit is excellent as you can see from the pictures. The bright work simply perfect, where possible original items have been restored and retained.
The underside is show standard, chassis stripped and painted, new floors, and all restored to concours standard, protected by high temperature clear wax... Stunning
Complete with 5 original fully restored centre-lock Dunlop 15" steel disc wheels and new chrome spinners. Dressed with all matching excellent Continental Contact 165/80 x 15 tyres.
The original fully overhauled Dunlop competition disc brakes fitted to all four wheels give the Twin Cam the braking efficiency to match its performance stopping smoothly, quickly, effortlessly.
The 1588cc Twin Cam engine with twin S.U. carbs runs perfectly being fully rebuilt in 2008. The rebuild included 9.9 pistons, red crank and uprated head with long bucket cam followers. Starting is effortless, she starts first time every time hot or cold and idles beautifully.
The original 4-speed gearbox has been replaced with a new Ford Type 9 5-speed making it a joy to drive in modern traffic. Gears are selected precisely and with ease, the clutch is light and progressive.
On the road she pulls strong through the gears, The fast revving Twin Cam sounds lovely through the full stainless steel exhaust system.
The engine and engine bay are fully detailed throughout and supports the original MG vehicle identification plaques. The history file documents the engine has covered a mere 5765 miles since rebuild and covered just 85 since its last comprehensive service... Such fun to drive.
The comprehensive history file documents 205 XYC was built 20th-23rd February 1959, despatched 27th February 1959 and one of only 115 Twin Cams built in that year.
205 XYC is one of only 150 home market UK right hand drive coupe Twin Cams ever built. Its understood that its most likely to be one of the first 50 MGA Twin Cam Coupe RHD cars; since 26 were built in 1958 and circa 19 built in 1959.
A full nut and bolt body off restoration and engine rebuild was carried out over a 4 year period from 2004 to 2008 by renowned MGA restorer and race car driver Mr Terry Drinkwater from Somerset. The Twin Cam was restored to concours standard and achieved great awards including; Bristol Classic Car show winner 2008, Best car of 2008 Mendip tour run and it was selected to be the main display car at the 50th MG anniversary at Silverstone. We have various, trophies and supporting documents from these events. A USB contains 120+ images of the car before, during and after restoration. A mere 5765 miles have been covered since completion and she still remains in impeccable order throughout.
The history file also contains; past MOT certificates, documents the 6 previous owners from new including the first Mr Roger Langdells of Harrow, a variety of original MGA Twin Cam sales brochures, information cards, The Nuffield Organisation demonstration day invitation, original drivers handbook, Heritage Certificate, Westwood Portway Ltd hand written historic knowledge of the vehicle and original Twin Cam maintenance schedule.

NOW... A SPECIAL TOP PERFORMANCE MGA
In early 1958, 3 pre-production Twin Cams were built and were excessively tested for both engine and braking development. Maximum production was initially set at 25 per week and sold to selected customers knowledgeable of the needs of a high performance automobile. Production officially ceased 13th April 1960 with a total of 2111 cars built (1801 roadsters 310 coupes) by the Abingdon-On-Thames assembly plant. Six weeks after production had ended 1 further car was produced and completed 3rd June 1960. The Twin Cam is enthusiastically supported to this day, its understood that 60% of all cars produced are known to have survived.
