Interior & Equipment
The completely original interior is outstanding throughout. The Alabaster seats (Code: 52), and door cards with door pockets have zero wear. All switches, control knobs, steering wheel, headlining and sun-visors look as if they have never been touched and just left the factory. Collapsible rear seat and parcel shelf. Complemented with a correct period Blaupunkt radio and carpet overmats this light and airy interior is utterly charming.
Exterior
This stunning Beetle is finished in Sumatra Green, (Code: L61B). The mirror like uniformed paintwork represents a car of such low mileage, perfect panel fit, factory door gaps and the odd little touched in stone chip helps confirm its originality. Exterior chrome and decals all in first-class condition, original VW glass all round is completely scratch free, all window and door rubbers are original and in perfect order. The underside, inner wheel arches etc all in perfect order as you can see from the pictures and have been treated with a clear waxoyl. The original rear mudflaps complete the outstanding finish of this very special car.
Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Owned by a previous keeper for some 22 years until 1996 the car was still fitted with the original crossply tyres.
Now sitting on all matching Firestone F-560 155 R15 Radial tyres all in excellent order. The original steel wheels and chrome hub caps all unmarked.
The original dual circuit brake system performs as well and she pulls up straight and strong. Steering is light and precise.
Engine & Transmission
Mechanically perfect, the 1285cc engine with 52 Bhp sits in a beautifully clean and detailed engine bay. She starts effortlessly hot or cold and idles perfectly returning that unmistakable and legendary sound of the VW Beetle.
Gearbox and clutch operate slickly and with ease. On the road she is a joy to drive, everything is tight and precise as you would expect from such a low mileage car.
