Stunning... The sumptuous tan half-leather is in fantastic order, the seat bolsters are plump and show no signs of bagging or wear. The original carpets are unmarked and in fantastic order again showing no signs of wear. The leather dash is perfect and supple with no signs of ageing as is the steering wheel and door cards. All electrics work perfectly, all gauges and switches work as they should and are all in original condition.
Finished in jet black with contrasting gold pinstripe the paintwork is incredible throughout having a mirror finish as per the pictures. All trim, lights and glass are in excellent order. The Targa top operates perfectly, does not leak and comes complete with the original bag for storage in the boot. The pop up headlights sit perfectly straight and are strong and positive in operation. Panel fit is perfect as per when it left the factory.
All original immaculate BBS cross spoke alloys sitting on new correct specification Pirelli's all round.
2174cc normally aspirated 4 cylinder. Sounds lovely through the stainless steel exhaust and starts on the first turn of the key every time, there are no rattles or fluid leaks... perfect. A recent cambelt change and full service has been done. The twin Dellorto's work perfectly and she runs like a dream, the 5 speed gearbox operates smoothly with ease and is very light and precise in every gear.
E666 HSG is a striking very original car and a genuine time warp example of this iconic British marque. Very low miles supported with a full documented history file and both original keys. These cars are becoming very difficult to find especially in this original condition and documented mileage. The history file contains the original purchase invoice, service history and bills, original Lotus handbooks, 2 original keys plus 19 past MOT certificates including the first one in 1990, the rear window still supports the original supplying dealer sticker.
The Lotus Esprit has been voted as one of the top 10 Coolest Cars in the World by Auto Express Community https://goo.gl/XmmEcf.

Widely regarded as the best of the normally-aspirated, Georgette Giugiaro styles Lotus Esprits, the S3 was introduced on April 22nd 1981. Visually updated with colour coded front spoiler, side skirts, air scoops etc. This model also had a new steering wheel, seats and instruments. Derived from the Essex Turbo Esprit, its galvanised backbone chassis featured all-round independent suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Light and agile in the best Lotus tradition the S3 was powered by a mid mounted 2174cc DOHC four-cylinder engine with a five-speed manual transmission.
The updated HC model was introduced early 1987 and boasted 172 bhp, 163 lbft thanks to an improved cooling system. The newcomer was capable of 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and 138 mph top speed. Further enhancements were a larger capacity battery, full engine / transmission under trays and adjustable rake seats. The short lived HC was superseded by the X180 Esprit in October 1987 making this model a prized collectors piece.
